Reformer Pilates

Reformer Pilates in Abu Dhabi

Bare Wellness is a boutique Pilates and yoga studio opening on Saadiyat Island in Q3 2026. At its center is a dedicated Reformer Studio with ten reformers, built for precise, technical classes where the instructor can actually see and correct your form.

Reformer work here is taught as a ritual, not a race. Classes move at a deliberate tempo, guided by alignment, breath and spring resistance, so you leave feeling taller and more connected to the way you move.

Why train on the reformer

  • Controlled strength

Spring resistance builds full-body strength through slow, loaded movement, without impact on the joints.

  • Posture and alignment

The carriage gives instant feedback, so you feel the moment your alignment drifts and learn to correct it.

  • Deep core work

Nearly every exercise asks the core to stabilize while the limbs move, which is where lasting strength is built.

  • Any level

Springs scale the work up or down, so the same class can challenge an athlete and support a first-timer.

What a class looks like

You will work through progressive sequences on the carriage using springs, straps, the footbar and small props. Expect footwork to warm up, a core series, standing and kneeling work for balance, and slower strength blocks where the tempo does the heavy lifting.

Classes are capped by the room itself: ten reformers, one instructor. That ratio means real coaching. Your instructor sets your springs, watches your form and offers adjustments quietly through the class, so you can work deeply without losing technique.

Is reformer Pilates right for beginners?

Yes. The reformer looks technical, but it is one of the most supportive ways to start Pilates because the springs assist as much as they resist. Choose a beginner-friendly class for your first visit and tell the instructor it is your first time.

If you prefer more personal instruction before joining a group, you can also start with mat Pilates, where the pace is easy to follow and the foundations carry directly over to the reformer.

What to bring and how to prepare

Wear fitted, comfortable clothing that lets your instructor see your alignment. Grip socks are required on the reformer for hygiene and stability. Arrive ten minutes early for your first class so there is time to check in and get set up on your reformer.

If you have an injury, are pregnant or have a medical condition, speak to your doctor first, then let the studio know before class so your instructor can offer modifications.

Reformer Pilates on Saadiyat Island

The studio sits inside Bloom Arjaan on Saadiyat Island, a short drive from central Abu Dhabi over the Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, and minutes from Mamsha Al Saadiyat, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and NYU Abu Dhabi. On-site and valet parking is available for members.

At opening, the timetable runs more than sixty classes a week across the Reformer Studio and the Open Studio, so morning, evening and weekend reformer sessions all have a place in the schedule.

Frequently asked

Is reformer Pilates good for weight loss?
It can support weight loss as part of a consistent routine, since classes build lean muscle and raise your work capacity. The bigger wins most members notice first are posture, core strength and how their body feels day to day.
How often should I do reformer Pilates?
Two to three classes a week is a strong rhythm for most people. Once a week still builds consistency, and more frequent training works well when you vary intensity across the week.
Do I need to be flexible to start?
No. Flexibility is an outcome of the practice, not a requirement for it. The springs support you through ranges you cannot reach yet, and mobility improves as you train.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel a booking free of charge up to six hours before class starts and your credit is returned. Inside that window the class is forfeited.
When can I book?
The studio opens in Q3 2026. Founding memberships open ahead of the studio, and the full schedule publishes before launch. Join the waitlist to be contacted first.
